Carol Bayles received her BS in Horticulture from the Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison and her MS in Horticulture from Cornell University in 1984. She spent 8 years doing microscopy in the Plant Pathology Department at Cornell before joining the Biotechnology Program to run the new confocal microscope. She transferred to DNA Sequencing/Genotyping for 3 years and then returned in 1996 to manage the day to day operations of the Microscopy Facility (now in Weill Hall) which is still her primary position. Concurrent with her Biotech position she also managed the NBTC Multiphoton microscope for about 4 years and currently manages the TIRF microscope for NBTC and assists with the IX71 and BX51 fluorescence microscopes.
